An Italian teacher forced a student to write the Italian equivalent of “I am a retard.” 100 times. He was acquitted in an Italian court of abuse charges recently. I wonder what the student did to get a reaction like that?

In Canada, the National War Memorial (who have they gone to war with anyways??) will have cameras mounted to keep surveillance on the landmark. Apparently 3 kids peed on it this year. They want to prevent that from happening again. But how did they know unless they caught them, and if they caught them without cameras, then what do you need the cameras for?

One of Korea’s top banks has put out a credit card for Christian ministers that will allow discounted Bible purchases and allows the preachers to earn points that can be converted into donations to their church… Odd. I don’t picture preachers as big spenders..

post Case Cards

In an interesting display of brilliance and insight the state of Florida came up with a plan that might solve some of their unsolved cases.

They are printing cards with the cases on them, missing people, stuff like that. Their intention is to start gossip going from which they can glean information.

More
strange
world headlines.

A teen is placed under arrest for having posted a youtube video of him driving ate a high rate of speed, more than 140 miles per hour.

Billionaire Leona Helmsley  removed 2 of her 4 grandchildren from her will. Her dog however is due to receive 12 million. They say when you get really rich like that you do get eccentric or is she just trying to rub it in?

You have probably heard of the Shaolin Temple? Thats where China’s most hardcore and superb kung fu fighters live and train. Well they are demanding that a internet user apologize for saying that a Shoalin monk was once beaten by a ninja. LOL.

As you know the summer Olympics are slated to be held in Beijing next year, and if officials fix the translations on the menus in time you will never know how they botched the English. Currently such tasty entree as Steamed Crap and Virgin Chicken are on the menu!

post Will Wright

Not only is this awesome but its deep, and has many many creative applications. While it seems like a simple entertainment activity for kids, it encourages depth in thought and extensive “what if” creativity. Will Wright talks about how this medium will improve society. Not only does it encourage thought, but it looks fantastic. Wright was the mind behind games like the Sims, Sim City, etc. A brilliant man. I think this game will revolutionize things because it allows pixar animation in seconds. Perhaps the engine will be put to amateur use.

Still needing to be entertained? There are other sites on the internet to read. Some of them are worth a digg.

post Mr Yuk

October 17th, 2007

Filed under: Blog — Tom @ 5:42 am

Remember Mr.Yuk? The green face that appears very unhappy he ate something bad? The green sticker you put on poisons to hopefully keep kids from eating the bad stuff.

Seems Mr. Yuk has lawyers, and they seem a bit distressed.  Well a councilman in St.Paul has put “Yuk-like” faces on the lawn signs that oppose an upcoming vote he is in favor of. The Yuk attorneys arent amused.

They say he has broken copyright laws and used Mr Yuk in an illegal way, they say that it is inappropriate. They claim it to be a clear violation.

Mr. Yuk was made 30 years ago to warn children that a substance was dangerous.

The owners of Mr Yuk are aware that it does not damage them that the image is used, theysimpl want to enforce their copyright.

The councilman said it appeared to him that the image was int he public domain. He issued a sincere apology.

post Jailed for a Donut

October 6th, 2007

A 39 year old women stole a doughnut. That in itself is puzzling. Why would someone do that?

Why would someone who had a warrant do that for? She stolle a 44 cent doughnut and of course the police came. The police found her hiding in a business across the street from the store she stole the doughnut from.

Store clerks seen her take the doughnut and stick it down the back of her pants. WHY? Ok you stole a doughnut but you stuck it next to your ass, I mean not only is that bad for your rump because who wants a sticky rump, but would you want the doughnut so much after that? And wouldn’t you need to steal coffee now?

When police were asked what kind of doughnut they recovered, officers replied, “Smooshed”

I was given membership to the Smorty program a few weeks back,Smorty is a site that gives bloggers the opportunity to get compensated for blog posts. After checking the situation out, I think I’m reasonable accustomed with most things enough to give my two cents on the subject.

Over on the left side after logging in, I took note I was delegated a Smorty Score on the sidebar. It is basically the amount of posts you’re given and amount of compensation are both generated by your Smorty Score. In the middle of the webpage you will discover your accepted oppurtunities area, which if you are just starting out, will be appearing empty. Not to worry! Because over on the right you will see your available job posts. All you have to do click accept on one of the opportunities and you are all set to begin posting for Smorty! You must finish one post before you can get another one. This feature protects both Smorty, the advertiser, and the blogger.

Smorty gives a minimum of 6 dollars per post, and pays you weekly. Its perfect if you ever wanted to blog for money.

post Bedroom Furniture

September 30th, 2007

Filed under: Blog — Tom @ 4:29 pm

There is a furniture site that is well organized , with an easy to browse product catalog. The furniture appears to be quality and the site says i can have it shipped in a very short period of time. Looks to me like these folks care about their customers. There is furniture for any room.

This is a great bedroom furniture store. They have a good selection of bedroom furniture , kid bedroom furniture, and child bedroom furniture.

All in all, a good site, hosting what appears to be fine products, but seeing is believing, so have a peek and tell me what you think.
