post Communication, on a World Level

September 9th, 2007

Filed under: Business — Tom @ 12:33 am

Today’s markets are on a world level, international commerce is a part of everyday life. As a consequence of our language barriers, things are mistype spoken, or mis-worded. Thats because most professionals today have no training in business English.

Consequently, oftentimes professional people make bad corporate decisions based on bad or incomplete data. Many managers have problems building relationships with their foreign counterparts because they have trouble communicating in business english. Most of the generalize courses offered by English as a Second Language that are marketed to business managers are not business specific enough to meet their needs.

English for Business executives is taught at  Executive Language Training each of their courses are custom  made to achieve the goals specific to what you wish to obtain from the program. Your specific inefficiency will be addressed by their professional staff. This will in turn advance your career.

Some of their clients include notable executives and numerous fortune 500 companies.

I recommend this to anyone, regardless of their career choice,  who wants to finally be bale to communicate clearly. This is a course that focuses on your ability, and then discovers where you need the work, which creates a course for you, for your specific difficulty. This  isn’t one where everyone is treated the same, you learn what you came to discover. And in business the bottom line is the most important, its all about results.

Accoona has a strong position in the Chinese market, which is important in the search engine business, as there are only 4 big search engines in that market, namely Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Ask.

Accoona is excited because they are entering the big world stock market, which says alot about their focus. They are a challenger who is here to stay. Accoona maintains that it can and will challenge Google’s hold on the search engine market. Accoona has particular target’s and interesting methods to find solutions to their goals.

A strong point with Accoona is its vast network of partnerships it worked to form since its 2004 inception. This strength lies primarily in Europe and China, but you can bet they are making friends in the States as well.

post Communications Service That is Beyond Expectation

August 30th, 2007

Filed under: Business, Blog — Tom @ 12:21 am

Let me ask you a question. When was thelast time you found another person or business that cared about your company as much as you? Yeah, that is rare. And I am pleased to tell you about a firm that does.

To call then just a telephone answering service really doesn’t do them justice. They are a communications treasure trove. Everything from pagers to voice mail they got it covered. And by no small means.

Of course, theres the answering service. Thats is full featured and staffed by people that genuinely care. They only hire people after extensive background research to ensure the employee is intelligent and polite. There is also a division that specializes in the answering of medical phones.

A large grouping of other services are offered to you as well. One of these is an emergency ansering service, useful if your phone service was to fail, via a provider issue, or a power failure. In that case all the calls not answered is potentially lost revenue. This would be a good insurance in a case like that.

Perhaps you need a call center? This can also be provided. This can be a solution for a business that needs to take catalog orders or RSVP or any product fulfillment type firm.

The following services are useful to growing businesses as well. Cell phone and pager repair. Fax services. Receive a fax in any area code you choose, and have the option to receive the fax instantly via email.

Want a posh Manhattan mailing address? Yep, you can have that also.

Its all right here for anyone wanting to create a booming business, without the overhead of the huge multi-merger corporations.

post Acer to Buy Gateway

August 29th, 2007

Filed under: Business, News, Finance, Computers, Technology, Blog — Tom @ 1:07 am

Computer seller, Acer, Taiwan’s main show is posed to buy Gateway computers for 710 million.

The conclusion of the deal will make Acer the third largest producer of computers int he world. They will ship 20 million computers and have sales average of 15 billion dollars a year.

Also of note, they may try to prevent their Chinese rival Lenovo from purchasing Packard bells European section.

Gateway wants to buy Packard Bell in a deal regard “first refusal” struck with its owner back in 2006.

Acer feels that with the purchase of gateway they will finally have visibility and presence in America. It strongly compliments their vast foothold in Asia and Europe.

Both Gateway and Acer feel that the deal is good for both of them and cuts the annual cost by 150 million annually.

Experts believe that Acer will act on the deal to acquire Packard Bell’s European Division, if only to get one over on Lenovo. Lenovo has been focused on the acquisition of the Dutch company to give them a European presence.

Perhaps they will simply have to pay more for Packard Bell…

post Chinese Looking to Buy Seagate

August 27th, 2007

Filed under: News, Business, Computers, Technology, Blog — Tom @ 6:05 am

Seagate is a disk drive maker that currently hold 30 percent of the market. And a chinese technology firm is interested in buying it.
Of course, this bears a bit of a concern, as the industry leader in a technology sector tends to possess alot of technology we as a nation dont want the chinese to have. The national security types are up in arms over this.

For quite some time, Seagate has controlled in a sense, the disk drive market. With numbers like 3 billion dollar quarters, its easy to see why. With products like 1TB capacity drives, and encrypted laptop drives, well that solidifies it.
The CEO of Seagate said the company isnt for sale, but  if the paid a high enough price, most investors would sell their stock.  Its folly to believe that there is not foreign companies that manufacture better products than our domestic ones. Thats what drives competition and makes us strive to be better.

the loss of jobs is the biggest threat here, in my opinion

post Microsoft to make Code for POSIX OS

August 24th, 2007

Filed under: News, Science, Internet, Business, Technology, Computers, Blog — Tom @ 5:35 pm

In the hopes of allowing operating system diversity in India, Microsoft will create several projects around Linux, Unix, and BSD. The deadline will appear in about 1 month. Microsoft hopes to grab some market share in India for Windows. Microsoft’s goal is operating system interoperability.

Microsoft will commission a team of “interoperability experts” to better facilitate working in the Linux world. This will be comprised of key developers from both sides of the coding circle.

Last year Microsoft created a council of experts in the US to assist people using microsofts products in a non windows environment. This council will meet bi-annually. Its a normal progression for Microsoft to establish a similar council in India

post A Credit Card

August 20th, 2007

I been thinking about getting a credit card.

Seems the process is not to entirely difficult. I would then be able to live a bit between checks.

I would seek to get one with no annual fee and a low interest rate. Hey a Walmart credit card would let me get a sweet Dell computer for like 18 dollars a month! Hmmm.

Of course some places offer cash back credit cards, which give you a portion of your spending back at the end of the year. Very nice for the shopaholic. Theres always balance transfers to move the balance of a card with a higher interest rate to one with a lower one, allowing you to save money that way.

I guess like all things you must compare credit cards before deciding a financial decision of this caliber.

post Skype Fails

August 20th, 2007

Filed under: Business, Internet, Electronics, Finance, Computers, Blogroll, Technology, Blog — Tom @ 10:20 pm

Skype is blaming last week’s two-day nonservice on “massive restart” of user computers worldwide.

Skype says that in a very short period of time users worldwide rebooted their PC’s because of the Microsoft Windows Update.

The Skype system crashed after a flood of request from users requesting authentication to the skype servers, this appears to be a large flaw in Skypes network resource allocation.

Skype claims it cannot confirm  there was no activity that might be called malicious.

How does this look for skype? Not well. Of course Skype is Ebay’s black sheep. Ebay bought skype in 2005 for almost 3 billion. People have always wondered why.

This outage will only serve to make people very leary of Skypes ability to deliver the service.

post Email Newsletter Simplified

August 20th, 2007

I like Zookoda, allow me to elaborate.

Zookoda makes things super simple, and by simple I mean a kid could do this. Head over to Zookoda.com to follow along.

You just sign up, and enter the pertinent information for your blog. Let zookoda know when and how often to send a newsletter comprised of your rss/atom feeds to your subscribers. Readers subscribe via a little registration box made fo code zookoda supplies to you. Easy right?

Its quite apparent that sending blog summaries to your readers will boost your site traffic. It reminds your readers that your blog is active and shows them what current content looks like.

I thought I would need to make a second account for a different blog, but I was wrong! Zookoda allows me to have multiple blogs and contains settings for each blog I add. Did I mention Zookoda is free? Yeah, its free and it works!

I am boggled by the length of time it took to get a service liek this to the blogging community, but now that its here I cant imagine not having it. I am pleased I have a way to reach my readers, especially those that may not understand how to use a rss aggregator. Now I can send them my posts at regular intervals. This is email marketing simplified!
