post Combat Boots

Soldiers wear different footwear for combat then they do for ceremonial activity. Most of history shows soldiers wearing combat boots. The Roman legions wore “hobnail boots”. Modern soldiers wear combat boots for both training and actual war.

These boots are not only great to look at but they are superbly crafted they offer grip, stability for your ankles, and protection for your feet, whether in water or desert, any environment. There are boots specifically designed for a given environment (jungle, desert boots, arctic), and those for a specific purpose.(tanker boots, jump boots). Troops are starting to see kevlar added to the boots, but its traditionally hard leather.

Some people think these boots are uncomfortable, but those people never wore a pair. I loved mine! And design improvements have corrected alot of problems that were seen decades prior.

More than soldiers wear combat boots. My friends in the paintball scene wear combat boots. Subcultures make extensive use of them as a style. Goth, punk, metalheads all wear them too. Some wear combat boots because they are comfortable, and durable.
They can be purchased at military surplus stores. CopShoes.com offers free shipping.

post Getting Married?

This is my favorite wedding dress. I like it because it would make any lady feel like a real princess. It reminds me of something you would see in a movie about the pretty princesses.

It comes in a couple of colors, including the colors of ivory and white. It is available in a variety of sizes ranging from 1 all the way up to 30.

I love how the dress flows, trails far and behind the woman, to me, it screams elegance. Its easy to see why I enjoy the dress, its so storybook. The cut of the fabric along the back is very flattering as well.

I enjoy this dress best in white, but ivory is also available if you shy away from white.

The designer is “Forever Yours” and this dress is a part of the fantasy collection. There are many wedding dresses and most are gorgeous, but this one is my favorite.

in modern cultrue its normal for the dresses to be white, eggshell or ivory. Queen Mary wa sone of the first to wear a white dress to her wedding. At the time, in France white was the color of mourners, I wonder is Mary was trying to make a joke as her husband was the French king. White became the color to wed in after Queen Victoria wed in 1840. Before this a bride would wed in any color, but not black or red.

Irregardless of color, this dress is an outstanding make!

post Why we Wear Ties

Like most modern customs it has a medieval start. The modern necktie is decended from the cravat.  The cravat orginated in the 1630’s with Croatian mercenaries who came to fight for King Louis XIII wearing colourful scarves which became known as cravats. And King Charles brought it to england.

From 1700 to 1770 it wasnt stylish, but then in 1770  became fashionable again.  Since you tied a cravat the way you liked, they became known as ties. It went out of fashion for a while in the 1700’s but it became fashionable again in the 1770’s. By 1815, cravats were becoming known as ties because you tied it according to your desire. It was in 1850 that it became standard business clothing.

A recently interviewed CEO says yes.

I think it does. Some wear “professional” looking clothes, while others don’t. The clients of these businesses dont seem to mind, the bottom line is that the works quality. Comfort seems to boost morale highly with the workers.

“You’re an adult, and as long as you’re neat and clean, wear what you want.”

Is corporate America looking at an overhaul?
