City Wide Drug Testing

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Scientists have determined how to test the urine of an entire community using a small amount of sewer water from that city.

The isn’t to determine any single user of illicit drugs. It would instead enable federal agencies track drug patterns and spread across the country.

OSU scholars performed the tests on 10 unnamed cities for drugs, prescribed and otherwise, from the sewers. They were able to give a good idea of the consumed substances. The results were presented to the American Chemical Society in the city of Boston.

The government has tried testing the waterways to see if its possible to drug test a whole city, but the students have made much more progress.

The chemical seen most was caffeine.

A Credit Card

Monday, August 20th, 2007

I been thinking about getting a credit card.

Seems the process is not to entirely difficult. I would then be able to live a bit between checks.

I would seek to get one with no annual fee and a low interest rate. Hey a Walmart credit card would let me get a sweet Dell computer for like 18 dollars a month! Hmmm.

Of course some places offer cash back credit cards, which give you a portion of your spending back at the end of the year. Very nice for the shopaholic. Theres always balance transfers to move the balance of a card with a higher interest rate to one with a lower one, allowing you to save money that way.

I guess like all things you must compare credit cards before deciding a financial decision of this caliber.

Extra Money?

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

Yeah, we all want it, but how exactly does one get money? Theres the working method. Thats good for paying the bills, but suppose those the hot girl ( or guy) you want to impress, Fridays on its way, but your check it spent! Argh! The bills!

So here’s what i do:

I get a personal loan from a trustworthy lender, this gets me through the pinch, and can really impress the girl. *smiles*

Theres an alternative for those of us that require it, and its often the best and fastest choice, a secured loan will often do what you thought impossible.

Both of these options are viable and recommended. I have found the very low fee I pay is more than worth the pleasure and success I enjoy because of the extra money I possess on the weekend, or on vacation.

I enjoy UKpersonalLoanStore.co.uk because they are fast, friendly, have the best loans.

Banana Substitute

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Often, if a recipe only wants an egg or two, you can omit the egg. Be sure to add a bit more liquid to it though, to keep things balanced.

Perhaps someone in your home has an allergy to eggs, in that case a full substitution will be needed.

1 egg = :

1/2 banana

or

1/4 cup applesauce

There are others i am sure, but those are the ones i know. Perhaps your dietician can recommend others. As far as i know theres no commercial soulutions available, as there is for items like milk.

Cold Batteries

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Will putting batteries in a refrigerator increase in life expectancy? The answer is yes, but it depends on the type of battery were talking about.  For example, alkaline batteries storing in refrigerator will extend the life by little less than 5%.  However, if you store them at room temperature.  It will retain about 90% of their power.  You can’t use cold batteries, that is right away, they have to return room temperature, so it’s like storing alkaline batteries in refrigerator doesn’t make sense for example, if you need them.  But if there’s a power failure and you want to put them in your flash light it right away it would render them unusable

However, for nickel cadmium batteries refrigerating them is far more useful, when you store a nickel cadmium battery at room temperature and they lose their charge after just a few days.  However refrigerated they retain 90% of their charge
