post Injury Lawyers

October 16th, 2007

Filed under: Health, Family — Tom @ 8:57 pm

As careful as we are sometimes we have accidents. Sometimes as a results of those accidents people get hurt, and sometimes the injury is permanent. The permanent injuries are the worst kind, because someones quality of life has changed, and its not for the better.

If despite your best efforts, you manage to get hurt and lose quality of life, it is best for you and your family that you seek the advice of an experienced attorney, one knowledgeable in these matters.

There is some great attorneys out there, and you might seek out a Austin Personal Injury Lawyer to answer your questions and , if warranted to seek litigation based on your claims.

It would then be decided by a jury. Sometimes however the other party will settle out of court, your lawyer will know which offer is best for you to take.

post 2 headed snake

October 13th, 2007

The World Aquarium in St Louis will now have a 2 headed carpet python. He (they) are 2 months old and have not yet been named. In fact, the aquarium is asking people to help them name the snake  via their website.

The snake is healthy. It will be housed next to the aquarium’s 2 headed 6 legged turtle, and until rather recently the aquarium was also home to a 2 headed albino rat snake, that snake lived for 8 years.

The snake will be made available to public viewing this Thursday.

post Malibu Echo for Teens

August 28th, 2007

Filed under: Childraising, Health, Household, Family, Blog — Tom @ 10:38 pm

Many adults and most parent will recognize one of the most significant things we can do is to keep teens clean and sober, barring that the next best things is to get them off the drugs.

Teen Rehab ECHO MALIBU is a solution if your teen has already found themselves with a problem involving substance abuse. Teen rehabs are a growing trend indicating to us the disturbing news, that kids are involved in substance abuse. We would love to deny it, but its better to address it.

If you are going to attempt to get your child to volunteer to enter ECHO MALIBU theres gonna be questions, and its best if you have answers ready to give to listening ears.

First, the center is located on the ocean in Malibu California. Your child may have their own room if its requested in advance, else the center couldn’t have time to make preparations, as normally they would have a roommate. The program is roughly 30 days, but these things are based on the individual.

You can expect daily one on one sessions, coupled with group sessions held by a licensed professional. Academic plans can be worked out with the child’s school, if the family grants this permission. The residents at Malibu Echo are not asked to do chores, because their treatment time is valuable and should be used to rehabilitate, not clean. Their is training and education offered to the parent, because every child needs a strong support net, and perhaps the addicted child more so.

Every interested party is invited to visit the facilities and to tour and ask questions of on hand staff. I suggest you do, and then if you got a problem to enroll, change your life while you are still young.

post Addiction

August 24th, 2007

Addiction is a disease.

My brother was plagued by it. Thankfully hes recovering now.

Before he chose to get help, it was a nightmare. Not just for him, but for everyone who cared about him. He was suffering, and a slave to his addiction. He didn’t want to be like that, yet he didn’t know how else to be, he was powerless to escape it on his own.

Every day he grew to hate his life more and more, and for a time, he stayed at the bottom, simply wanting to die. Makes me sosad to think of him suffering like that.

I recall him doing 55 miles an hour on a road with a speed limit of 30. I asked what was wrong, and he said its 5:30 PM and it should be half smashed by now, if I don’t hurry I will miss happy hour. When he said that, i realized just how pervasive the addiction was. After Dad died, he really went down hill.

Fortunately, after a particularly disastrous day, Mom lead the crusade to see him get help, and that night he signed into a rehab center. I am so pleased to tell you it saved him life, and he turned 26 today. Perhaps, without rehab, that wouldn’t be the case.

Rehab is an option for anyone who wants to change, and Watershed makes it an affordable and viable solution for everyone, they care, and that shows in the way they approach their plan for each patient. If you know someone who is in need of alcohol or drug rehabilitation I sincerely hope you will encourage them to join a rehab program.

post Painless Bedroom Furniture Shopping

August 22nd, 2007

Filed under: Household, Arts, Consumption, Home and Life, Savings, Family, Blog — Tom @ 3:41 am

Thats right, there is a painless way to shop for furniture.

I used to hate shopping for furniture, I felt like I was being hunted from the moment I entered the store. Dont make eye contact!! my inner voice would scream. Inevitably I would… And also inevitably I had a salesman following me, like a stray I gave a biscuit to. Thing is, when I need or want help, I am fully capable of letting them know. Why do furniture salespeople stalk us??

But there is a painless way to buy furniture. Frankly, these guys impressed me, and its because they WANT your business, they want to show you that better way.

In a nutshell, heres how it works: You want a dining room furniture set for example. You shop their online catalogue, then the item is sent to your location via one of their convenient warehouses. They work some odd hours to best serve their customers, so you might try calling them and asking them some questions as well. By the way, since they dont have the showrooms you and I hate so much, theres no large overhead. Whats that mean to me? Lower prices.

So thats how you free yourself of the furniture store stalker.

post Cartoon Doll Emporium

Your younger daughter a bit bored? Does she need a fun healthy activity that she care share with friends? I have the answer!

Cartoon Doll Emporium.

Its curiously addictive. Cartoon Doll Emporium is one of the fastest growing online communities for “tween” girls. They have fun online activities, like dressing some of their favorite stars in fashions they choose, and often times they can choose to change the colors of clothes, hairs, etc. Its YOUR style after all!

Cartoon Doll Emporium also has “webkinz”. These are hand drawn dolls that you take care of online, dress up and play with. Theres even tools that allow you to send the dolls and webkinz to your MySpace.

Another big thing alot of tweens enjoy is dressing up the Hannah Montana superdoll at Cartoon Doll Emporium. Yeah I tried it, its interesting because there was so many different combinations of clothes and accessories, plus I even got to pick my own pet.

post A Credit Card

August 20th, 2007

I been thinking about getting a credit card.

Seems the process is not to entirely difficult. I would then be able to live a bit between checks.

I would seek to get one with no annual fee and a low interest rate. Hey a Walmart credit card would let me get a sweet Dell computer for like 18 dollars a month! Hmmm.

Of course some places offer cash back credit cards, which give you a portion of your spending back at the end of the year. Very nice for the shopaholic. Theres always balance transfers to move the balance of a card with a higher interest rate to one with a lower one, allowing you to save money that way.

I guess like all things you must compare credit cards before deciding a financial decision of this caliber.

post Extra Money?

August 19th, 2007

Yeah, we all want it, but how exactly does one get money? Theres the working method. Thats good for paying the bills, but suppose those the hot girl ( or guy) you want to impress, Fridays on its way, but your check it spent! Argh! The bills!

So here’s what i do:

I get a personal loan from a trustworthy lender, this gets me through the pinch, and can really impress the girl. *smiles*

Theres an alternative for those of us that require it, and its often the best and fastest choice, a secured loan will often do what you thought impossible.

Both of these options are viable and recommended. I have found the very low fee I pay is more than worth the pleasure and success I enjoy because of the extra money I possess on the weekend, or on vacation.

I enjoy UKpersonalLoanStore.co.uk because they are fast, friendly, have the best loans.

post Banana Substitute

Often, if a recipe only wants an egg or two, you can omit the egg. Be sure to add a bit more liquid to it though, to keep things balanced.

Perhaps someone in your home has an allergy to eggs, in that case a full substitution will be needed.

1 egg = :

1/2 banana

or

1/4 cup applesauce

There are others i am sure, but those are the ones i know. Perhaps your dietician can recommend others. As far as i know theres no commercial soulutions available, as there is for items like milk.

post Telemarketers

July 27th, 2007

Filed under: Home and Life, Household, Family, Methods, Blogroll, Blog — Tom @ 12:35 am

Are you getting calls from a lot of different telemarketers and tired of it?  Here’s your solution! Simply register online at the do not call Registry. business phones, home phones, and  even cell phones can register to do not call Registry. You will still get some calls.  It takes about 30 days for it to take effect.  If you get anybody call during that period, write on a pad who called inform them that you are on do not call Registry, and you’ll find that they get off the phone rather quickly.  Give this log to your phone company when you send in your phone bill.  This is effective way of dealing with the solicitors,  tell your phone company that you told the callers that you are in the do not call Registry and they’ve been alerted to that. in about 30 days,  you will know the peace of no telemarketers.
